A wonderful aurora display that was the furthest south I have
ever seen. The display began as wispy cloud-like structures nearly at the
zenith. At first I thought my astrophoto session was going to be ruined by
thin clouds. I then noticed some red in the cloud and recalled a potential
aurora warning for tonight. I then studied the luminosity of the clouds
and realized that this indeed was an aurora display that was well south of the
zenith and extended from the western to eastern horizon. I grabbed the
digital camera and the display became a Technicolor show!
