Astrophotography by Jeff Ball
Globular Filament 7

A few years ago, a
composition by Michael Stecker caught my eye and I have always wanted to
visit this composition with a DSLR.
The area in this composition is on the Cepheus and Cygnus border and has been
catalogued as Globular Filament 7.
The dark "x shaped" nebula in the center of the frame is the area identified as
Globular Filament 7. I am not sure as to the exact area that is
identified as the filament.
My reference for the object ID is from
Jerry
Lodriguss' page where he notes that the
object was
catalogued as Globular Filament 7 by Schneider & Elmegreen in 1979 (ApJS 41,
87.)
