M45 - The
Pleiades
Canst thou bind the sweet influence of the Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?
Job 38:31
"...The Pleiads, rising thro' the mellow shade, Glitter like a swarm of
fireflies
Tangled in a silver braid.."
Tennyson

Comments: This object is one of my favorite visual objects in the 130 EDT. 3
negatives were shot at Blackwater Falls, WV during the Astronomy Weekend. The
conditions were intermittent rolling ground fog througout the night. The skies
remained quite nice, however, so I kept on shooting. Temps were in the 20's and dew
was quite heavy. Quite the opposite happened on the other 2 negatives. These
were shot at the Mid-Atlantic Star Party. Conditions were quite nice - temps in the
30's and some of the driest nights I have seen since I have been in the hobby.
