Mercury Transit November
15, 1999
I have been waiting for this event ever since I saw a Jack Newton transit picture in
"The Guide to Amateur Astronomy" about 5
yearsago. Unfortunately, conditions were very windy. I gave
up on eyepiece projection and went to prime focus for the remainder of the transit.
I really like the composition including the huge sunspots as a size reference to
Mercury. It was a great visual treat!
