| A North America/Pelican Nebula mosaic with a CCD
camera. This is a composition of 16 frames with an ST10 CCD camera
on an Astro-Physics Traveler refractor. Each frame of the mosaic is
3 hours of exposure giving a total exposure time of 48 hours. A fine art print of this image is available at this link. |
For fun, I thought I would include a link to a film
image taken with the same instrument, the Astro-Physics Traveler.
This image is cropped from the medium format 6x7 positive. It is
unfiltered and taken with Kodak E200 slide film. The exposure was
one hour at New Mexico Skies. A fine art print of this image may be purchased at this link. |
Each of these images meet my expectations for high quality large prints starting at a minimum of 13'x19' on the Epson 2200. For more information on creating mosaics with CCD cameras please see Rob Gendler's resourceful website.
