Saturn/Moon Occultation on
November 30, 2001
On Friday November 30, 2001, the Moon slid in
front of the planet Saturn. In this image we see Saturn just before the
Moon covers the planet. The bright white crater area on the Moon is
Aristarchus area (map 18 in Rukl's Atlas of the Moon).

| Scope | f | Mount | Camera | Film | Exposure | Digital info | Location | Date |
| TV85 | ? | Telepod | Nikon 995 Digital | n/a | 1/15 for the Moon and 1/8 second for Saturn with TV Radian adapter and 14mm Radian eyepiece | One original image was used for the Moon and Saturn. The Moon was kept from the original with some curves and unsharp mask adjustment in Photoshop. Saturn was replaced with a digital stack of 3 exposures of longer duration using Astrostack. These exposures were taken within seconds of the original image. Unsharp mask was used on the Saturn layer. | Huntington, WV | November 30, 2001 |
